Choose the right route for a police report, misconduct complaint, or civil-rights concern.

Different concerns need different channels.
A police report documents a possible crime or incident. A misconduct complaint concerns an officer’s conduct. A civil-rights complaint and a records request are separate routes.
Police reports
The official JPD reporting page explains which reports are eligible for online submission and when other reporting methods are needed.
Misconduct concerns
Use the official police contact and complaint resources. An Attorney General civil-rights route may also be relevant depending on the concern.
Public records
If the goal is to obtain an existing policy or record, use the appropriate records process. Sending a message through this independent website would not file an official report or complaint.
