Local information.
Public accountability.
A place to start.
Joliet Votes is an independent civic website built to make local government and participation easier to understand.
The purpose
Residents should be able to find who represents them, understand the decisions being made, read the source record, and identify a useful next step.
The homepage brings those entry points together. Dedicated pages give each subject the space it needs without turning every visit into a research project.
Independence must be visible
Joliet Votes is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the City of Joliet or the Joliet Police Department. It is operated by Residents for Joliet (Pending Org Formation) (20 Member Council) (All Voluntary Grassroots). Corrections are reviewed and published with a dated note.
Joliet Votes does not claim nonprofit status, endorse candidates, publish unverified accusations, or represent itself as a government service.
Equal standards for the public record
Official profiles use the same fields. News entries show their source and original date. Government statements are labeled. Older controversies retain their historical context. Disputed claims remain attributed.
